Solution
The number of categories and series in the Chart Designer (WAD) is used for creating demo data. It helps to customize chart settings e.g. the colors of different data series.
Depending on the chart type the Chart Designer saves either the number of the series (e.g. for Columns, Lines) or the number of the categories (e.g. Pie).
These numbers do not influence the result of the query at runtime! If you insert e.g. 10 as the number of series you can change the customizing settings for 10 data series. At runtime the number of series depends on the query – no matter how many customizing settings were created before.
