The current CPUJul2009 contains the following “non-security” patches:
6392076 – CREATE OR REPLACE JAVA CLASS USING BLOB” IS NOT SKIPPED ON
LOGICAL STANDBY
6870937 – ORA-600 [729] “UGA SPACE LEAK” ERROR RESULTS IN SESSION OUT
In the Oracle inventory, these patches are listed as normal single patches.
Oracle 9.2.0.8.
The CPUJul2009 conflicts with the previously recommended patch 5530583 (see SAPNet Note 1043381). Patch 5530583 corrects a critical ASSM performance problem, and it is strongly recommended for customers who use the ASSM tablespaces.
If you do not use ASSM tablespaces and have not applied patch 5530583, you can apply CPUJul2009.
Merging these two patches (CPUJul2009 and 5530583) is not possible for technical reasons, and it will not be possible for future CPU patches either.
When you install CPUJul2009, the system reports a conflict with the following patches:
5369855 – HANGING EXECUTION WITH STAR_STRANSFORMATION_ENABLED=TRUE
IN 10.2.0.2
5057695 – SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE SLOW TO CLOSE DOWN DATABASE WITH
INACTIVE JDBC THIN SESSIONS
Both patches are included in CPUJul2009 and, therefore, you can roll them back when you apply CPUJul2009.

Take account of the following changes to the installation of CPU patches due to n-apply mode. Detailed information and the documentation is available in the README, which is contained in the CPU patch:
1. OPatch command:
opatch napply -skip_subset -skip_duplicate
2. Loading the modified *.sql files:
cd $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin
sqlplus /nolog
SQL> CONNECT / AS SYSDBA
SQL> STARTUP
SQL> @catbundle.sql cpu apply
SQL> QUIT
Check the log files that were created by catbundle.sql. These log files are available in the following directory:
$ORACLE_HOME/cfgtoollogs/catbundle/
