Cause
By default, SQL Server 2005 Express Edition and SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition do not allow remote connections.
Resolution
Follow these steps to enable remote connections:
1.?ClickStart, point toPrograms, point toMicrosoft SQL Server 2005, point toConfiguration Tools, and then click燬QL Server Surface Area Configuration.
2.?On theSQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configurationpage, clickSurface Area Configuration for Services and Connections.
3.?On theSurface Area Configuration for Services and Connectionspage, expandDatabase Engine, clickRemote Connections, clickLocal and remote connections, click the appropriate protocol to enable for the environment, and then clickApply.
4.?ClickOK.
5.?On theSurface Area Configuration for Services and Connectionspage, expandDatabase Engine, clickService, clickStop, wait until the MSSQLSERVER service stops, and then clickStartto restart the MSSQLSERVER service.
